On Friday, March 19, Mitra Sumara will take part in the Persian Arts Festival at the prestigious venue National Sawdust, at 80 N. 6th St. in Williamsburg, Brooklyn.
The evening will include short films, visual arts, poetry, performances by Aida Shahghasemi, and at 11 p.m., a dance party featuring the 1960s-style psychedelic Farsi funk of Mitra Sumara. It's all in celebration of Norooz, the Persian New Year, and it should be a special evening. We have learned a couple of new tunes, just for this occasion.
